Blackberry Cobbler





I found some frozen blackberries that I picked this summer and decided to make a yummy cobbler!  It was delicious with vanilla ice cream!

2 1/2cups fresh or frozen (thawed and drained) blackberries (do not use blueberries)
1cup sugar
1cup Gold Medal® all-purpose flour
2teaspoons baking powder
1/2teaspoon salt
1cup milk
1/2cup butter, melted
Cream, whipped cream or ice cream, if desired

  1. In medium bowl, stir together blackberries and sugar. 
  2. Let stand about 20 minutes or until fruit syrup forms. Heat oven to 375°F.
  3. In large bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, salt and milk. 
  4. Stir in melted butter until blended. Spread in ungreased 8-inch square pan. 
  5. Spoon blackberry mixture over batter.
  6. Bake 45 to 55 minutes or until dough rises and is golden. Serve warm with cream.
